Bahrain tycoon says Bumi policy can scare away investors

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 28 — Malaysia risks scaring away foreign investors if it insists on pursuing Bumiputera affirmative action policies, a top official of a major Bahrain conglomerate said today.
“There is one thing Malaysia has to be careful of. You have a ‘delightful’ law here... where you give the local population certain seats or certain preference or certain licences,” Kanoo Group deputy chairman Mishal Hamed Kanoo told reporters at the “Dawn of the New Decade: Alternative Investments in Asia” forum here today.
“If you do that and foreign investors want to come in — they’re not used to this idea — you might scare them.”

Najib, clean up Islamophobia in M'sia first

LONDON: Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak should look into his own backyard at how the minority Malaysian Indians and the non-Malays suffer from Islamophobia through BTN, Jakim, Rela, the judiciary, Perkasa and practically every organ of the government institution against the minorities in Malaysia.

Coerced sharia law onto non-Muslims, forceful conversion, statelessness, body-snatching, direct insults similar to the cow head incident that prevails through state-sponsored institutions in Malaysia are classic examples of Islamophobia that affect the tenet of human rights in Malaysia for minorities that needs to be rectified and curtailed before Najib goes to the US to preach how to assist the Barack Obama on Islamophobia.

Obama Defends His Faith, Says He Became Christian By Choice

New Mexico: President Barack Obama defended his faith at a political function in New Mexico on Tuesday as critics continue to question his religion.

"I am a Christian by choice," Obama responded to an attendee in the audience who asked why he followed the faith.

The event was part of a four-state tour meant to rally Democrats ahead of the midterm elections, but with polls showing that a significant number of Americans believe the president is Muslim, Obama decided to set the record straight.

WELL-LIKED LAWYER PETER MARAJIN JOINS SAPP

KOTA BELUD:A well-liked local lawyer here, Peter Marajin, who stood as independent candidate for Kadamaian state constituency in the 2008 general election, has joined Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP).

Marajin, a Dusun who hails from Kg Kinasaraban here, handed over his application form to SAPP President Datuk Yong Teck Lee at the party's well-attended function in Tamu Darat near here last night (September 30, 2010).

Earlier in his speech, Yong, welcomed Marajin into the party and hoped his entry will further strengthen SAPP, especially in Kadamaian and Kota Belud.

Sini saya ada gambar UFO, bukan saya yang ambil, tapi orang kampung di ulu Sg Sapulut yang ambil. Menurut En Alip, gambar itu dirakam oleh pakciknya yang ketika itu bekerja di Kem Balak hutan Sandakan pada tahun 1985.
